Be a hero! Do the JumpStart Challenge! 

Are you up for a challenge?  Entries are now open for the JumpStart Challenge 2023, from 27 February to 5 March.

The JumpStart Challenge is a fitness event with a purpose – and a rich history.  It’s Mr Price Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Entrants can ride, run or walk a range of distances, either physically at Holla Trails in Sugar Rush Park, Ballito; or virtually, anywhere in the world.  With distances ranging from 3km to 100km, there’s something for everyone: from professional athletes, to teams of colleagues, and families with prams and dogs.

• Virtual Ride: 27 February to 5 March: 15km, 50km, 100km
• Virtual Run/walk: 27 February to 5 March: 3km, 7km, 15km
• Physical MTB Ride: 4 March: 15km, 50km, 95km
• Physical Run/walk: 5 March: 3.3km, 8.5km, 14km

Every rand raised by this awesome event goes directly to the foundation’s JumpStart programme, to empower youth with life skills and work readiness training. JumpStart opens a world of opportunity for thousands of unemployed youth every year.

When youth are empowered with new skills and opportunities for employment, they can break the cycle of poverty and inequality.

That’s why they’re heroes to us – and that’s why you’re a hero too, when you support the JumpStart Challenge.

HERO THEME

This year’s JumpStart Challenge has a hero theme – so you’ll be an even bigger hero if you dress up as your hero and really put the ‘fun’ into fundraising. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative hero dress up at Holla Trails.

“I challenge all South Africans to join the JumpStart Challenge and be the heroes you were born to be! Every entry will support our youth on their journeys to gain skills and employment; and to become heroes in their households,” said Karen Wells, head of Mr Price Foundation.

Last year’s hybrid JumpStart Challenge raised over R600 000 and attracted almost 700 entries. This year, the JumpStart Challenge is aiming to attract 2 000 entries.

So, grab your treads and trainers and dare your colleagues, family and friends to get active for a great cause.
